#empathyforgrief and Loss is our Vision
Mother’s Backyard Inc.
MBI is a nonprofit and exists as a resource for family improvement education and activities for underserved individuals and families who desperately need these services but may not be able to afford them. Our goal is to offer books, digital information, virtual and in-person experiences that address topics that will ultimately help build better families and communities. Our current focus is on grief and loss.
We also invite you to our Mother’s Backyard Buzz blog where our #empathyforgrief podcasts are created and offered as a free grief and loss support resource. The podcasts supplement the book, My Backyard Garden, A Memoir of How Love Conquers Grief.
We provide our personal insights as grief support advocates, as well as willing and experienced life skill coaches. While we can connect you with and support the use of grief counselors, we offer our perspectives based on first-hand, grief journey experiences.
We believe when grief and loss strikes, our resources are available to help when and where you need them.
Mother’s Backyard Enterprises (MBE)
MBE creates and supplies MBI and other partners with educational and informational resources and experiences to help individuals and families. We believe helping individuals and families will ultimately build better communities.
Our premier resource is our book, My Backyard Garden, A Memoir of How Love Conquers Grief. The book chronicles a real and personal grief journey. It offers the experience as insight and as a reminder that grief and loss is a journey that we all will take.
Our latest offering is MOVE Mapping™ for grief and loss. We offer virtual and in-person overviews, workshop experiences, and speaking engagements.
Currently, we look for every opportunity to address the topic of breaking the silent struggle and sometimes silent suffering of grief and loss. Grief impacts us all when we or someone we know experiences the death of a loved one due to illness, gun violence, crime, suicide, and accidents.
Loss is a traumatic event, whether it is the loss of a loved one or a lifestyle.
Whether sudden or anticipated, grief continues well after the funeral and bereavement leave. This loss and change remain a silent struggle for the loved ones left behind. Our mission is to “break the silence.” Help us change the way our society looks at and addresses grief and loss. We encourage moving beyond sympathy to a place of empathy for yourself and others.
